Job Title: Trade Marketing Manager – Autotrader Group
Location: Sydney
Reporting to: Director of Motors / Head of Strategy, Insights & Product Marketing

About the Business

Gumtree, together with CarsGuide and Autotrader, create Australia’s leading multi-category classifieds marketplace, auto editorial and lifestyle network reaching more than 1 in 3 Australians every month.

Our Motors division, Autotrader Group, is a unique and powerful ecosystem for Australian dealers that leverages Gumtree Cars' large and vibrant auto intender audience, CarsGuide’s new car editorial leadership, and Autotrader’s intelligent car buying tools to effectively capture demand.

At our core, we help prospective car buyers make informed choices, transparently locate and connect with dealers, and successfully navigate their auto purchase journey from intent to purchase.

Trade Marketing Manager, Autotrader Group

We are seeking an experienced Auto Marketer to help guide the strategic planning, delivery and execution of the Autotrader Group trade marketing strategy focused on new and used auto dealers in Australia.

Joining our established Autotrader Group Motors team, including Gumtree Cars, CarsGuide and Autotrader, this national marketing position will suit an ambitious, influential, and data-driven automotive and marketing professional. You will have the data, tools, and support to deep dive into our vibrant automotive vertical, leveraging consumer insights from the millions of Australians that visit our platforms every month.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the automotive category, digital marketing, paid media, and the role of classifieds and content in influencing consumer journeys – with experience creating and implementing successful sales and marketing strategies in a media publisher, OEM, auto agency or in-house dealer marketing department.

Reporting to the Director or Motors/Head of Strategy, Insights & Product Marketing, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our Motors and Commercial Product teams to deliver client-centric automotive dealership advertising subscription, display media and data partnerships. You will lead the delivery of tailored brand, acquisition and retention strategies, assist with creating sales and marketing collateral, campaign and event management, and drive revenue growth by delivering new category insights and industry thought leadership.

If you have a passion for strategic thinking, automotive, data and insights, we encourage you to apply and become a driving force in taking our Motors business to the next level.

  • Support trade operations with communication throughout the customer lifecycle, ranging from on-boarding, up-selling, customer reporting and customer invoicing.

  • Deliver strategic thinking, research, and insights to build tailored proposals, industry updates, and proactive sales pitches across a range of auto clients, business objectives and budgets.

  • Contribute to the sales pipeline through targeted brand and activation strategies including Sponsorships, Partnerships, Events, Advertising and PR, working in conjunction with the consumer marketing, advertising, and leadership teams to leverage all Motors opportunities.

  • Identify strategic growth opportunities for new and existing clients that leverage our diverse portfolio of brands, extensive reach and growing digital ecosystem of top marketplace, editorial and forum assets.

  • Stay up-to-date on automotive industry trends, competitor activity and market intelligence to help the business continually enhance our offering.
